==History==

Due to interest and agitation from local residents, a series of improvements were made to develop the park into usable open space over the late 1920s. The Melbourne & Metropolitan Board of Works constructed a new sewer through the land, which Camberwell Council gave permission to proceed somewhat begrudgingly; [[John Donald Howie|Cr John Howie]] agreed "provided the board agreed to finish the work properly".

The present-day Mont Albert Reserve was recommended to be named 'Mont Albert Park' by the Mont Albert Progress Association in 1927.
