The northern section proposed to link the F5 Freeway in the north (today the [[wikipedia:M80 Ring Road, Melbourne|Metropolitan Ring Road]]) to the [[wikipedia:Monash Freeway|Monash Freeway]] in the south.<ref>Victorian Heritage Council.
